What to Do in the Event of an Electrical Emergency
If your electricity stops working in the middle of the day, you can get by without crisis. Sunlight is bright enough for you to go about your business without having to use artificial light from lamps and light bulbs. But what are you supposed to do if the power goes out while it’s dark outside?
If your power goes out in the middle of the night, it can be dangerous to attempt to fix anything without being able to see your surroundings clearly. In the dark, you could trip over a stool, step on a child’s toy, or even fall down the stairs.
What Should You Do?
If your power goes out, the first thing you should do is find some battery-powered lighting. If you have an emergency torch, you should turn it on so that you can see your surroundings clearly. If you do not have a torch, you’ll need to pick up the phone and call an emergency electrician.
You should call an electrician to fix your power outage as soon as possible but there are also a few ways to attempt to fix the power by yourself while you wait for the electrician to arrive. For example, if you know where your circuit breaker panel is located, you can try to reset the circuit breakers by flipping the switches off and turning them back on again.
Call an Emergency Electrician
Some electricians in County Durham provide emergency 24-hour electrical repairs but not all of them do. If you can get access to the Internet on your mobile phone during the power outage, you should find an electrical company that can come to your house at any time of day or night.
Give the electrician your address and tell him or her about the problems you’re experiencing. Electricians are highly experienced and will know how to get your power working again.
